Some flowers are meant to stay.
In this tutorial, I’ll show you how I turn real pressed blooms into clear resin flower candy cubes — tiny keepsakes that capture a quiet moment of nature.
🎥 Watch the full process in the video below:
✨ What You’ll Need
- Real pressed or dried flowers & small leaves
- Clear two-part resin (A & B)
- UV resin (small amount)
- Silicone cube mold
- Mixing cups & sticks
- Tweezers and toothpick
- Alcohol wipes or cotton swabs for cleanup
- Optional: fine sandpaper, clear top coat / UV resin for glossy finish
💡 Safety tip: Work in a well-ventilated space. Wear gloves and a mask. Follow your resin brand’s mixing and curing instructions carefully.
🌷 Step-by-Step Guide
1️⃣ Prep the blooms
Trim petals and leaves to fit each small cavity. Keep your layout simple and balanced — a little breathing space makes the cube look lighter and more transparent.
2️⃣ Mix the resin
Combine Resin A and Resin B at a 1:3 ratio (A is three times the amount of B).
Stir slowly for 2–3 minutes to minimize bubbles, then let it rest a moment before pouring.
3️⃣ Add a thin base layer & UV step
Pour a very thin base of the mixed resin into each cavity.
Before placing flowers, drop in a tiny amount of UV resin, then cure briefly under a UV lamp.
This step helps fix the base and reduces bubble formation during the main pour.
4️⃣ Arrange the flowers
Use tweezers to place each petal or leaf. Gently adjust with a toothpick until balanced from the top view.
5️⃣ Top up & de-bubble
Pour to the brim. Pop any surface bubbles with a quick heat pass (a lighter or heat gun) or by gently touching with a clean toothpick.
6️⃣ Cure patiently
Let the resin cure fully — usually 12 to 24 hours, depending on your resin type.
Avoid moving the mold; clarity comes from patience.
7️⃣ Demold & refine
Once cured, remove each cube.
If edges are rough, sand lightly and apply a thin layer of UV resin or clear coat for extra gloss.
💡 Tips for Clarity & Color
- Use fully dried flowers to avoid cloudiness.
- Small petals and pastel tones look best in tiny cubes.
- Less is more — leave some empty space for a floating, airy effect.
🌸 Gentle Finishing Touch
These little cubes make thoughtful handmade gifts — as desk charms, photo props, or tiny reminders of calm.
Each one carries a moment of stillness that lasts.
