I’ve been using both screw-style and strap-style flower presses in my daily routine, so I wanted to share a simple, honest comparison.
Not a technical review — just what actually happens when you use them for real botanical work.
Here’s the quick comparison video I recorded during my real botanical workflow — hope it helps you see the difference more clearly:
🔩 Screw Flower Press
✨ Pros
- More aesthetic — the design looks premium and beautiful on the table.
- Stronger, more stable pressure — tightening the screws gives very firm control.
⚠️ Cons
- Slow to open — every time you replace the absorbent boards, you must loosen all four screws.
- Time-consuming if you press different flowers often.
🪢Strap Flower Press (Band-style)
✨ Pros
- Extremely easy to open and close — great for frequent board changes.
- Space-saving — stacks neatly and doesn’t take up much room.
- More affordable — budget-friendly and practical.
⚠️ Cons
- Slightly weaker pressure
→ Tip: adding one extra strap in the center improves the overall pressing strength.
🌼 Which one should you choose?
➡️Choose the screw-style if you are:
- someone who loves beautiful tools
- patient and doesn’t mind tightening screws every time
➡️Choose the strap-style if you are:
- someone who changes flowers frequently
- wants to save time and space
- prefers an easy, practical workflow
✨ In my actual workflow, I use the strap press more often — it’s simply the most convenient.
