EP15 · It’s Raining — A Simple and Fun Pressed Flower Craft

Rainy days don’t always have to feel grey.

Sometimes, they can be soft, colorful, and comforting.

In this EP15 tutorial, I wanted to explore a very simple idea:

turning pressed flowers into a gentle rainy moment.

This is not a complicated project.

It’s more about atmosphere, balance, and enjoying the process.

The Idea

The concept is straightforward:

White hydrangea petals become fluffy clouds

Small colorful flowers fall like raindrops

Everything is arranged on a clear acrylic frame, so the piece feels light and transparent

I like working on clear acrylic because it allows the flowers to “float” in space.

There’s no heavy background — just light, air, and quiet movement.

The making process is shown in the video below.

Materials

For this rainy-themed pressed flower craft, I used a small selection of delicate dried flowers:

White hydrangea petals — used to create soft cloud shapes

Cornflower petals (pink & blue) — arranged as colorful raindrops

Mini white spirea flowers — added as light accents to echo the clouds

Forget-me-not flowers — for subtle texture and color variation

All flowers are pressed and lightweight, making them easy to arrange on a clear acrylic frame.

How I Arranged the Flowers

1. Creating the clouds

I placed the white hydrangea petals in a loose triangular shape.

This helps the cloud feel fuller at the top and lighter toward the bottom, just like real clouds.

I didn’t aim for perfection — slightly uneven edges make the clouds feel more natural.

2. Letting the rain fall

The small flowers were placed one by one, randomly and gently.

I mixed colors instead of grouping them, so the “rain” feels playful rather than patterned.

I also made sure to include a few white raindrops, which visually connect back to the clouds above.

The process itself feels a bit like watching rain fall — slow, calm, and intuitive.

Tips

A clear acrylic frame works especially well for this kind of light, airy design

Using B7000 glue helps keep the flowers in place while leaving minimal visible glue marks

Don’t overthink the placement — randomness is part of the charm

This is the kind of project where trusting your eyes matters more than following strict rules.

A Small Reflection

When I finished this piece, I realized something simple:

Even rainy days can be colorful.

Not in a loud way — but in a soft, quiet way that feels comforting rather than dramatic.

And that’s all — a gentle rainy moment. ☁️🌸

If you’d like to try this project without the extra preparation,

I’ve put together a ready-to-use dried flower kit for EP15.

All flowers are pre-selected, pressed, and packed —

so you don’t need to buy fresh flowers or press them yourself.

You can find the complete kit on my website and start creating directly.
